This is what our Film textbook looks like. All students should obtain a copy as soon as possible.

The textbook is by Richard Barsam. The book is called LOOKING AT MOVIES, second edition. (I don't think there's another edition, but if there is the page numbers and content may be different. In fact, by law one cannot name a book a new edition unless there's a certain percentage of changes from the old edition. (A new printing is different; the content doesn't change in new printings.)
New students should certainly talk to continuing students to familarize yourselves with the course objectives, exams, schedules, etc.
Do NOT go by the official time schedule. Film screenings each Friday begin promptly at 12:30 in the library basement, NOT at 1:10 in the lecture classroom.
If you think you cannot make this time, agreed upon by all students, then you need to drop the class.
Each week commentaries on the scheduled film is due several days after the film. These commentaries must be emailed to Stella Chen on time. Discuss this with her on Friday.
Attendance is required at all lectures and film screenings. No one will be admitted to the screening after the deadline of 12:30 or whatever time is set by Stella Chen.
