ON THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE SUBLIME
FOR A BRIEF example of the sublime, in both music and images, view this two-minute video of the begnning of Richard Strauss's tone poem, Also Sprach Zarathustra (So Spoke Zarathustra). Since it was used in the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey, it has become very famous; even Elvis Presley used it to begin his concert programs! But it's a good example of the sublime in terms of elevation of concept, powery, and mystery, which are central themes of the book of Job.
