MIDTERM ORAL PRESENTATION
Review the questions below. Practice at home or with your classmate(s). Prepare to discuss these with me individually during the week of 14 December 2009 (14, 16) during usual class times in the regular classroom. Work on content, fluency, vocabulary, volume, intonation. Each oral exam will take about 10 minutes. I will select several questions from the list below or all of them.
I don't care about student rotation. If students agree on a rotation among themselves, that's all right. Otherwise I'll circulate a sign-up sheet on Wednesday.
1. Discuss one of your pet peeves and elaborate on it.
2. Discuss your favorite song and why you like it. Discuss lyrics and music if you can.
3. Discuss your personal response to a Twilight Zone teleplay.
4. Discuss your response to the Nobel Prize award given to US President Barack Obama.
5. Do you believe people are alike all over? Discuss. Give reasons, comparisons, analogies, examples. Include personal experience if you can.
6. Discuss your views about credit cards and debt. Do you believe in using credit cards; in amassing debt? What would you use a credit card for?
7. In "The Mind and the Matter" the main character disliked people. Discuss the relative merits of society and solitude. Include personal examples or insights.
8. Discuss your views about Kanye West's interruption of Taylor Swift at an award ceremony.
